Lincoln Industries - Lincoln, NE

Services Implementation

Problem: New Employees Claim Injury Within 90 Days of Employment:

Lincoln Plating in an effort to keep up with production has a high injury and turnover rate among new employees. Injury rate rose above the ability to replace employee’s resulting in a threat of the loss of Workers Compensation Insurance and plant closure.

Action Taken: AKS Computerized Post-Offer Employment Examinations:

We immediately initiated our Industrial Athlete Program™, specifically post-offer employment physical evaluations.  Through our computerized testing, we were able to determine an individual’s ability to safely perform the job task without injuring themselves.

Results:

In 11 months of applicant testing and we have experienced a 73% hire rate resulting in the employment of approximately 200 employees. Year to date Lincoln Plating has not experienced an injury to the employees that AKS evaluated.

Lester Electrical - Lincoln, NE

Services Implementation

New Employees Injured Within 45 Days of Employment. Lester Electrical, in an effort to keep up with production, hired several employees. Within 45 days of employment, they experienced 35% injury rate.

Action Taken: AKS Computerized Post-Offer Employment Examinations:

We immediately initiated our Industrial Athlete Program™, specifically post-offer employment physical evaluations and a customized safety program.  Through our computerized testing and job site analysis, we were able to determine an individual’s ability to safely perform the job task without injuring themselves.

Results:

116 applicants were tested for the first 3 quarters of this year, for which 85 passed, and 31 failed due to the inability to perform the job tasks. One (1) new hire employee with a post-offer suffered an injury, which was returned to pre-injury status without lost days or litigation.

New Penn Motor Express - Lebanon, PA.

Velocity Express - Minneapolis, MN.

Services Implementation

Problem:

Velocity Express Delivery Systems-Minnesota experienced a one hundred ten percent (110%) injury rate of their employees within the first 90 days of employment.

Action Taken: AKS Computerized Post-Offer Employment Examinations:

We initiated our Industrial Athlete Program™ to evaluate all new employees with computerized testing.  We also began testing on all newly injured and currently injured employees.

Results:

With only 43% control of their injured employees, we were able to reduce Velocity Express Delivery Systems-Minnesota's total disability days by 42%, and light duty days by 49%.  We reduced the average treatment for injured employees to seven visits.  These numbers added up to $100,000.00 in direct cost savings and $270,000.00 in indirect savings.  This dramatic reduction in work-related injuries; days off work, modified duty, and associated treatment costs were a direct result of our Industrial Athlete Program™.
